Social Constructivism points to the learning process as , "socially situated and knowledge is constructed through interaction with others"; therefore, I chose other media like, the 1950's movie 'Rashomon'. Rashomon is a Japanese classic by Akira Kurosawa. I equate him to Bengali movie director Satyajit Roy. They are the greatest filmmakers of all time. I realised, I have sidetracked. I wanted to compare the meaning of terms, 'Story' and 'Narratives'. Rashomon will be the correct media to clarify the distinction. Here I go!
If you loved watching Satyajit Roy's 'Apu Trilogy' (Oscar winning), then you might as well like to watch 'Rashomon'. Please, be aware, the book was written in 1920 and the movie was made in 1950. You got to keep your mind-frame set at a Japan's feudal time. I found the plot, story and narratives electrifying and very engaging. You might think otherwise.
