Second section was about leadership. Carol Dweck is one of the world's leading researchers in the field of motivation and is the Lewis and Virginia Eaton Professor of Psychology at Stanford University. Her research has focused on why people succeed and how to foster success. Discussions centred around her book 'Mindset' where she introduces the idea of 'fixed mindset' and 'growth mindset' people. Success rate of the people with growth mindset is far greater than the counterpart. She backed all the ideas through her twenty years of research. The term 'growth mindset' refers to the belief that abilities can be developed and honed through dedication and hard work. In contrast, a 'fixed mindset' is the belief that you are born with a level of talent and intelligence that really can't be changed.
